Adventures in Baby Showers

Sneak peak to a shower I styled last weekend. The honoree happened to be my old roommate Lizette. We shared a fabulous little place in Burbank many years ago .....until she one day decided she needed to go and live in London for a while!
She has since returned to the states (has lived in Alaska, Oregon and now back to California to be exact). BTW-Throw in a few vacations to Mexico and Europe and the Caribbean in between. To say she is the adventurous type would be an understatement!
Anyway, I really wanted to do something woodsy, boy-ish and some how tie in a bit of HER personality -hence my "campy" baby shower theme. That's campy with smores and cute woodland creatures not campy like an old Bette Midler Las Vegas show. If you don't get that- don't worry about it (it isnt that funny) and move along.....
but I promise it turned out cute and I cant wait to share more with you soon!

She's having a baby too!

My dear friend and old room mate Lizette is having her first baby. So I have asked her to attend the Jayneoni Moore's - She's having a Baby event in Beverly Hills on the 23rd. This is sure to be an amazing event and I am dying to win tickets. I have entered the giveaway (EVERY WHICH WAY). I am crossing my fingers...which by the way, is VERY hard to do while typing. Wish me luck!

If you are in the LA area, check Project Nursery for all the fab details .

Rubber Ducky Pond-reposted

I need to mport some stuff from my old blog.......
its a re-run but might be NEW TO YOU!
One of my Gal friends is in the process of putting together a Rubber Ducky inspired Baby Shower. We recently chatted about her upcoming event and I shared with her a couple of ideas on decor. Here are some images of something I did a few years ago. It was for a small baby shower my Kid Sister hosted for one of her friends....We had about a week to put it together!
A pathway lined with rubber duckies welcomed guests as they arrived.
We used glass bowls, river rocks, aquarium pebbles, spanish moss, little bamboo sticks and several rubber duckies to create a large centerpiece. The parents had already chosen the babies name "Payton" and so we made a little sign and christened our little ducky retreat
"Payton Pond"And here are a few more pics of the deocr...

There are so many great Baby Shower themes to choose from. The Rubber Ducky themes is one of the most darling and sweet.
Hope this helps Beth..I am sure your party will be great and I can't wait to see how your Ducky Soiree turns out.
