How do you say "Fabulous" in Swedish?

That was my big question last week. I had made a new friend...from Sweden (You gotta love the net). Anyways, we met through common interests, I will give you one guess..YES she is a party enthusiast . Her name is Jenny, she also has a blog ( in Swedish).
This is what she recently did for her daughters Sofie's 3rf birthday. It was a my Little Pony party (funny because I was in the middle of my pony party research last week when she found me) but anyways, check out what she did.

A monster of a party...

Today I am featuring a fun party that included two of the sweetest monsters ever, Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc. I caught a glimpse of the spectacular event over at Cool Party Blog and wanted to share it with you. This Mom is so creative and as you will see this party for her son was truly a labor of love.

Talk about an entrance..she actually painted this on a 8’ x 4’ corrugated cardboard panel....just a little party back drop. What do you think of Mike? By the way SHE MADE THIS! Check out her site for more on Paper-mache...she even offers templates.

I wonder how Mike made out?
I always love a good game of Pin the eye on Mike.

The kids all got tons of goodies and these great badges that she also made.So official right? Yeah, I kinda want one!

and this has got to be my favorite...a Mike's Eye shirt that read "I had a Monstrously Fun Time at Christian's Party". There is no doubt about that.

You can read more about this party here Check out all the Yoshi stuff while you are there!

Thank you Cool Party Blog for letting us share.

Ahoy Matey- part4 What is a Pirate to do?

Here are a few fantastic ideas shared by the Party Planning Mom herself. Brenda created some awesome activities for her kids Pirate Party...Guests were all given a bead necklace, striped head wrap, sash & bag to collect plunder.

They made treasure chests.

They walked the plank! They went on a treasure hunt. They had a ring toss, you gotta dig the hooks!
and this is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! The Flying Dutchmen and the Black Pearl. Brenda made these from appliance boxes. She also made 100 cannons from balled up newspaper and electrical tape. No surprise that this was a hit!

How fun would this be for a water balloon fight. Get some black water balloons and fire up the cannons. It might be a little wet...but I am sure it would be tons of fun.

Want to see more of Brenda's party? Of course you do! So please click here!

The Pirate tribute concludes tomorrow, make sure to check back for the goody bags.

Game Day

Finding new themes for kids birthday parties is a constant challenge for me. Trust me, I have seen my fair share. So it is no surprise how delighted I was to find this Little Quarterback Tailgate party that Natalie over at Team Imhoffs (how fitting right?) put together for her adorable son Braeden's 1st birthday.
The invitations were game tickets she actually designed herself! The party took place outdoors with lawn chairs, tailgate and all (BTW-no alcohol of course ). Guest were invited to wear their team jerseys. The cake was a football and the birthday boys highchair was decorated with a little goal post.

I think this theme is adorable and Natalie did a fabulous job putting it together. I hope I have the opportunity to use some of her ideas very soon.

Thanks for sharing Natalie!

Bring Your Own Pumpkin

What a fabulous little Pumpkin Painting party Amy from Living Locurto put together for her neighborhood kindergarten kids.

I especially loved her fun invitations (BYOP). A free down loadable version is offered at her site .

She also provided little aprons for all the little artists and used cupcake tins for paint receptors...brilliant!

To learn more about this party and the hostess extraordinaire aka Amy, please visit Living Locurto. Thanks for sharing Amy...Fabulous Little Shindig!

drum roll please

Oh...I just cannot wait so drum roll please....It's Real Life Confections!Featuring real people; mom's, dad's, kids and anybody doing fabulous things in the baking world in the month of November here at the Little Shindigs blog. I am not a baker but I have a great affinity for delicious confections and can appreciate anybody that can whip up sweet little masterpieces. Now, you don't have to be a professional baker in fact this is for real people (hence the name) whom just happen to have some Betty Crocker flair. BTW I should also say that I don't think "professional bakers" are not real people...but you know what I mean. So if you blog about your confections or know someone that does, please contact me.I would love to add them to the list.

If you are digging the upcoming segment, let me know. If you think the title for it is fabulously fitting...I totally agree, my little sister Evelyn came up with it and I give her all the credit. Thanks sis!
