That is the one party I never got to plan.

 I ran off with my spoon.....eloped to Vegas to be exact.

Classy.. I know.

that's me. that's my spoon. the only plan was to be happy.

 I wouldn't change a thing.

A day in Del Mar

We spent a couple days in San Diego this week. Yesterday, we headed to the races at Del Mar. A first for us! We thought it would be fun to dress up and wear floppy hats. Del Mar, by the way is gorgeous! You cant beat the location. The weather was gorgeous!

Ironman LOVED wearing a tie and of course any excuse to dress up is fine by the little princess.

This is my little sister. Isn't she lovely?! By the way, she always looks this great and she is a FABULOUS cook. She made us the most wonderful dinner the night before.

Honestly, a great time had by all in our second home (aka-Evelyn and Davids place in San Diego).

Now we are back in LA and wrapping things off for a party tomorrow.

What is the magic word?

As a parent, I have asked that question many a time.

But today over dinner, as Iron Man (our 3 year old) asked to have some of my beverage. I got an answer I would never have expected, considering HE has been on the other side of that question many a time.

" ABRACADABRA! " he proclaimed proudly.

My husband and I tried REALLY hard not to laugh. We tried.

First Grade Humor

We had open house at the princess' school today. She is in Kindergarten and was SO EXCITED for this. She has been counting the days all week!

We visited with some parents, chatted with a few teachers and then made our way to the potential first grade classrooms to take a looksy at what is to be of us next school year.

On our last class room visit, I came across a big display of dioramas. A cute and very outspoken little first grader started chatting us up. She was really sweet. Told us about her diorama, all the animals she chose for it and so forth. A few steps away, stood a lady with a young child looking at what at first glance, appeared to be a small cage of some sort.

So, being the curious person that I am, asked my new little friend-

"... is that the class pet?"

She looked over at the table, paused for a second, and responded with "nope, that is just my little sister".

I about died! Her mom, very sweetly explained "no honey, she was talking about the mouse" and laughed along.

Too much!

Feliz Cumpleanos

Today is my kid sisters birthday...and I am WAY late in posting this. So sorry E but you know I love you and only wish the best on your birthday (what is left of it at least).

Valentines morning

I woke up to flowers on the nightstand. My kids actually pointed them out as I tried to squeeze in a few more zzz's.

me-(smiling) well, I suppose daddy did.

the Princess-They are so beautiful! We should put them on the dinner table.

Ironman(aka my 3 year old son)- yeah mommy...like a centerpiece.

me-(shocked my 3 year old knows what a centerpiece is) what did he just say?

Balance

Hope every one is having Fabulous week and sorry for the recent scattered posts. My kids "social" itinerary has been quite a handful lately. I am sure many of you can relate. The balance between the family , the business and all the other things have definitely taken a toll lately. But that's okay.I will find my groove, eventually.

Oh...I just cannot wait so drum roll please....It's Real Life Confections!Featuring real people; mom's, dad's, kids and anybody doing fabulous things in the baking world in the month of November here at the Little Shindigs blog. I am not a baker but I have a great affinity for delicious confections and can appreciate anybody that can whip up sweet little masterpieces. Now, you don't have to be a professional baker in fact this is for real people (hence the name) whom just happen to have some Betty Crocker flair. BTW I should also say that I don't think "professional bakers" are not real people...but you know what I mean. So if you blog about your confections or know someone that does, please contact me.I would love to add them to the list.
